Class Update 6/28

Our study and discussions about The Shack continued last Sunday with Cat facilitating the discussions about chapters 4-6. These chapters got into the meat of the book, and led to what could be some pretty heavy conversations. We may want to pick up some of these conversations/topics in future classes for more in-depth discussion, once we've completed the book...

Don't forget, we will not be holding class this Sunday, since several will be out of town for the 4th of July holiday. Happy Birthday, America!

When we return to class on the 12th, we'll be covering chapters 7-9, so you have plenty of time to get caught up, if you're behind. :)

Mission Update: Blaire has been working with the volunteer coordinator for Operation Kindness for our 3rd quarter Missions/Community Service project (as voted on by the class last fall). Mark your calendars now for the "Dog Day Afternoon", which will be on Sunday, September 20, from 9-3. We will not likely hold class that Sunday, since it would be pretty late in the event for us to show up after class, changing clothes, eating lunch, etc... Here is a link to a story about the event last year:

Note, last year it was at Hawaiian Falls in Garland, but this year it is at Whiterock Lake.

Joys and Concerns:

Please pray for the Millers, as they traveled to Houston on Monday for the funeral of Peter's grandmother.

Congrats, again, to the Mays on the birth of Colin Miles May last Thursday
