Class Update 7/12

Announcements:
Our discussion of The Shack continued last Sunday with Cale facilitating discussion on chapters 7-9. Thanks Cale! We had a good sized group for the discussion, which always makes it more interesting to hear different perspectives. I've heard rumors that some have not been attending class because they haven't read the book. Please don't feel like you can't participate in the discussion if you haven't read it. The book study guide is usually just a starting-off point for topics of discussion, so we'd love to hear you're point of view, even if you haven't read the book.
This week, we'll be discussing chapters 10-12.

Connie Presley has sent out a follow-up request for Children's Sunday School substitute teachers for the month of August. There are still openings that need to be filled on Aug 9, 16, 23, and 31. Please send me an email if you can fill in one of those Sundays, so that I can let Connie know. She's counting on us, so please help out if you can.

Mission Project:
Our next class service project is going to be volunteering for the "Dog Day Afternoon" for Operation Kindness on September 20, which also happens to be Cale's 30th birthday! So mark your calendars.

Joys and Concerns:
Congratulations to KJ who passed her certification exam!
Condolences to the Shipman family, as Brad's grandmother passed away last week (funeral was on Monday in Houston).
Pray for Cat, who is directing the drama in this week's Music Makers performance (160 kids learning a musical in 1 week!). Be sure to come see the performance at 9:45 this Sunday.

Hope to see you all on Sunday (even if you haven't read the book!!)
